Feedback & Support

Problems, feature ideas — please tell me about either.

The best way: submit it inside the software

Open Story Singularity and go to Help → Report a Problem… in the top menu.

The software fills in the version number, system information and the most recent crash record for you, so all you have to write is what happened. Every piece of that technical information is visible before sending and can be unticked; your screenplay content is never sent.

If the software has crashed, the fallback page has a “Report this problem” button; using it attaches the crash scene automatically. Arriving from the Help menu at other times, the crash record is not ticked by default.

Contact details are required — without them I cannot ask you anything, and a problem that cannot be pinned down usually cannot be fixed.

If the software cannot send it, or you have not installed it yet

Email me directly:

When an in-software submission fails, the dialog offers “Copy all” and “Save as text file” — what you wrote is not lost; copy it out and paste it into an email.

What helps most

“It crashed when I exported” is hard for me to chase down. These few lines make it much faster:

Software version: (Help → About Story Singularity shows it)
System: macOS 15.5 / Windows 11 …
Doing: clicked “Export PDF” in the Script stage
Expected: a PDF file
Actual: a few seconds of spinner, then the whole window turned white

If you can reproduce it, writing the steps down in order is the most useful thing of all. Screenshots help too — but please check before sending that there is no screenplay content in them you would rather not show anyone.
